Vlad Zvarych

Vlad 46+

I'm lucky to be born in the Kyiv. My parents worked at the military unit (modern Art Arsenal territory nowadays)

5 - dreamed of becoming a pilot, then a botanist ... the first remained the childhood dream, the second influenced all the further life.
10 - I had a collection of cactuses and also tried to grow fragrant herbs.

In that days it was a tradition to plant flower beds near the buildings. Old ladies in the center of the city planted bright flowers - roses, peonies, lilies, mathiols ... everything that smells. Kyiv patios were filled with pleasant smells because of that! - it was interesting both visually and in combination of aromas around.

11 - my understanding of the impossibility of creation of a flower bed with different notes and aromas  that I imagined has led to a rather unusual transformation.

...Collection of Perfumes

Many guests (a co-wokers of my parents) from different countries have visited our home. They brought unfamiliar scents as a presents - from India, from Syria, from Bulgaria .... then it became my interest and passion that started from my childhood. I really wanted these perfumes but they didn't belong to me; it was the property of my parents.
But of course I used to use these scents without permission from time to time ;)

13- I wanted something sweet and moist. There were only dry sweets in every store. Therefore, cakes, essences, cognacs for impregnation began ...
First cake with cherries, cognac and sour cream. I assume my habit to drink cognac from time to time started from this baking experience ;)
It is very strange, but when I became an adult, after the institute, I forgot how to do cakes, although I cook very well but not sweets and bakery anymore.

Fond Of Cooking

I study Ukrainian cuisine and know how to cook. Panska (Rich) potato, which was prepared by my grandmother. I always cook traditional Ukrainian high cuisine for all my guests. My family cooked: pidbyvanka, matsik ... it turns out very tasty.
Borsch in our family was preparing for a week (processes of laying the dish) and was a solemn Sunday food. On Monday we put beet kvas, on Wednesday added to swell beans, and on Thursday colorful beans was added, on wednesday garlic and lard was  added. On Thursday, everything that was going  into the borsch - beetroot, pepper, cabbage, etc. was preapearing on a low heet. And on Friday the borsch itself was cooked. On Saturday, borsch persisted, and on Sunday was served. As my grandmother said that there should be at least 42 components. The principle of cooking this dish in our tradition was - combination of vegetable (stewed and raw), meat combination (several kinds of meat, but not fish and no poultry) and combination of fats (a combination of vegetable and animal oils with chopped garlic and lard)

14-  it happened that my youth passed on the outskirts of the city (today it is the metro Darnitsa territory)

... I studied at Ukrainian school. At that time pedagogical classes began to form and I got to the first one in Kyiv. By passing graduate exams in this classes you were automatically admitted to study at the Pedagogical institute. My study were also  complemented with such subjects as psychology, ethics, and more. It expanded horizons and stirred up more interest in social sciences.

18 - my first opportunity to travel abroad.

In a few years I brought a lot of perfumes that I bought in France.
I was amazed that such things like, for example, anise cologne or tuberose aromas exist... and these were the first samples of perfumes that came into my collection.
Perfume, which I remember the most - Narcis ( by Nikolaev factory) and Anis cologne by Galimar (brought from Leone in 1990)
My grandmother was born in 1900, in her home I heard Narcissus perfume for the first time.

Visiting Hetman Skoropadsky younger daughter - Olena in Switzerland

19 - co-founder of UMA (UNA). "The Revolution on Granite" - took an active part and made attempts to organize students. For my active position I was expelled from the institute. Education - incomplete. At this time I clandestine studied at the seminary and was chairman of the Ukrainian Catholic Youth Committee.

- my grandfather tought me to love Ukraine and it's culture.  He used psychology from the opposite method thus making the teenager interested in the counterweight.

20 -  joined the monastery in Krakow, where I studied for 2.5 years as a monk. Made my first vows to the Order of the Fathers-preachers - Ordinus Predekatarum or the Dominican Fathers (OP).
Organized the first mass pilgrimages from Ukraine to the holy places.

22 - After returning to Ukraine, I became interested in the interaction of society and began to engage in projects related to politics, the organization of small and large social groups.

I'm inspired not by history, not by archeology, but by the traces of the past, I seek for them ...
I explore social environment, I'm curious how they function and interact. Where do they come from and where are they going ...
This is an attempt to see the parallel world and it is alive, and it's traces, and imagine myself inside it.
For example, Croats can read Glagolitic and read the inscriptions in Kyiv St.Sofia. At the Balkans they have the same mailboxes and markets as we have in Galicia.

23- a member of the board of the National Committee on AIDS Control under the President of Ukraine, and a consultant at the Geneva Department of the Non-Governmental Anti-AIDS Programs. Almost at the same time, the Community Coordinator of the Human Rights Committee

politics aggravates and leads to exhaustion. The long period of organization of festivals, parties and various informal movements begins. Support the formation of the Gothic movement, reverberian takeoffs, the first festivals in Ukraine.

Success of my commercial projects allowed me to buy perfumes, collect, and go for auctions - as a result, I now have lots of nice bottles, a collection of about 3000 aromas.

34 -  At the center of modern art we have created a Poison project - can you imagine the smell of a poison? After all, there are poisons that smell very good, such as cyanide, but if you will breathe it in, a person dies. But we recreated poison smells so that everybody could try them without harm for their health.
40 - call myself a perfumist - a kind of producer in the field of perfumery. Founded one of the first perfumery brands in Ukraine.

42 - founded the creative association Olfaktorium, which is located in the territory of the first alcoholic beverage factory in the Russian Empire
Start to create a museum of Ukrainian perfumes of the postwar period. At the same time, I am one of the founders and developers of the concept of the DonCult Festival.
43 - planted in the middle of the city a forest clearing with 600 species of plants, based on rare ferns.

... I want to go to Iran. They have a different sense of hearing. This is a perfect civilization, homogeneous, but with different traditions - mountain, valley ... It is somewhat like Ukraine, but we do not have the homogeneity of civilization. It is very interesting to me. There are some remnants of Zoroastrian culture and Persian, but the language is still Persian.

46 - together with Oleksandr Perevertailo we developed the first Kazakh perfume with the smell of a cannon.
46 +  - I am Christian and I live by what is now. My profession is my future, my dreams in realization.
